Plus Pack is actively participating in an ambitious project that promotes the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

Since the introduction of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the private sector has been considered an essential part of the solution, and the global platform is providing Danish companies with the chance to unite new business opportunities with sustainable development.

Plus Pack is, along with 20 other companies, selected to participate in a unique two-year long project led by the Confederation of Danish Industry and supported by the Danish Industry Foundation, which aims to:

  • Help the companies realise the commercial goals defined as part of the strategies developed for SDGs relevant to each company.
  • Ensure that the participating companies gain new knowledge as well as develop and test new methods for successful development and implementation of Danish strategies and projects based on the SDGs.

As a responsible food packaging manufacturer, Plus Pack has identified that its core impact is related to SDG12 – ‘Responsible production and consumption’. The unique project will, among other things, help Plus Pack develop and implement a strategy plan based on this SDG.

“To Plus Pack, responsible business is good business, and it is therefore not just about making the food packaging industry more sustainable, but also about enabling the consumer to make a better choice. Sustainability is a core competence in Plus Pack, so this project is very important to us”, says Camilla Haustrup Hermansen, Director of Business Development and Marketing.

The participation will provide Plus Pack with the possibility to work strategically and focused with the SDG, and thereby become fit for future global competition, where sustainable business models will be in demand.
