We believe in a circular economy

We believe in a circular economy, meaning that we focus on recyclable products and/or products that are made from recycled materials.

From the manufacturing process to our food packaging solutions and their recycling possibilities, we take specific measures to live up to our environmental responsibilities. Our designs strive to minimize the use of resources and cut down on waste, by leveraging technological advances and practicing responsible product development. This benefits the environment and consumers, and should be profitable for our customers.

The way most people live today means that we cannot live without food packaging. We are busy and we want to buy easy and ready-to-eat, ready-to-heat, and ready-to-cook meals. Hence, we cannot eliminate the need for food packaging. However, by choosing the right material – for the right situation – we can significantly reduce our climate footprint.

DID YOU KNOW...

…that only 5% of CO2 emissions from food products comes from the packaging?

We believe in recyclable products

Our dedicated focus on recyclability means that:

  • We design and develop plastic food packaging that are “fit for future”
    – meaning they are easy to recyclable.
  • rPET from Plus Pack contains up to 100% recycled content.

Choose plastic that can be recycled

Recyclable materials contribute to a circular economy. We focus on clear mono-materials as these are easiest to recycle. Also, we avoid bio-degradable materials, as these are not recyclable.

Aluminium - the champion in a circular economy

Aluminium is the only material that can be recycled indefinitely without loss of properties. It is the only material that can be used in all 4 applications: Freezer – Microwave oven – Oven – Grill.

Aluminium is recyclable without loss of quality, and 75% of all the aluminium ever produced is still in use today. Furthermore, development of new and stronger alloys together with design optimization leads to consistently achieving “more with less”; a downgauging trend, to which the aluminium industry, raw material suppliers and Plus Pack are committed, to continuously save resources. Aluminium is considered a valuable material and should, therefore, ideally be sorted separately and collected for recycling.

Responsible production

In our production facilities we collect all leftover scrap and return it for use in new foil production. And we are committed to reduce CO2 emissions each year. This will be done in transportation (in-bound and out-bound) as well as in the production facilities.
